Catherine Barton

Catherine Barton, MA, BCBA, LBA, CCTS-I (she/her) is a licensed behavior analyst and certified trauma specialist. She has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis since 2014 with numerous clients ranging from toddlers to adults. Catherine has a particular clinical interest in sleep behaviors, eating and mealtime behaviors, and pervasive demand avoidance (PDA). Through her trauma-informed practice lens, she aims to work with clients and their families experiencing barriers or difficulties in these areas using assent-based practices and whole-family system supportive methodologies.

Catherine joined SCBA in 2020 during the pandemic. Since joining SCBA, Catherine has supported the primary goal of the company to provide quality services and support to autistic people throughout Hampton Roads by providing 1:1 direct treatment, family and caregiver training, continuing education courses, social skills groups, and more.

In her spare time, Catherine enjoys traveling (especially to National Parks), cooking and baking, reading, and playing cozy video games. She also loves spending time with her husband and their cats. Finally, she likes watching documentaries, sci-fi or dystopian series (like Fallout or Stranger Things) and football – Go Bills!
